LINUX CHECKING HARDWARE COMPATIBILITY


RED HAT LINUX software for Intel-based PCs is compiled for the minimum x 86 platforms supported by the Linux Kernel, x 386 CPUs family.

If a particular Laptop or PC model, it should also check with it manufacturer for Linux support issue. Enlightened manufacturer now offer Linux preinstalled or have in-house Linux hardware certification programs.
